December Team Spotlight: Meet Deirdre Oshea

Deirdre's role with Optima Office is Senior Bookkeeper and she has been with Optima since the end of February, 2022. Deirdre was born in Connecticut, but considers herself a New Yorker at heart. She remembers visiting her grandparents with all of her cousins in Washington Heights, being tossed around in the back of their station wagon. She attended college in upstate New York and found herself moving to "The Big Apple" after college where she met her husband, Eric, at a friend's party in West Village. Together, they have a daughter, Clara, who was born in Manhattan during a snowstorm!

Deirdre appreciates how Optima and the internal staff are extremely supportive, proactive, and smart—not to mention excellent people. She loves working with her team leads, and admires how well the office pulls together towards the goal of creating a smooth functioning workplace.

Being able to create order from chaos for a client makes her joyful, and she loves the challenge. She believes there is a "fly on the wall" aspect to what Optima does. Optima sees the inner workings of many companies, and she finds the thought processes and organizational strategies of these companies fascinating.

Deirdre has a passion for writing, and she is currently working on a screenplay; among other projects. She also enjoys going on walks, where she claims that "San Diego neighborhoods are a walkers dream". She logged in a a lot of miles when there wasn't anything to do during the pandemic, and she keeps that going with walks on the beach or in random neighborhoods. She is looking forward to exploring the cool catwalks in Rolanda next! Now that live music is back, Deirdre and Eric have been going to the Observatory in North Park once a week.
