Jeanelle was born here in California but spent most of her childhood in New York. Before coming back to San Diego for her last year of high school and continuing on to college. She received her Bachelor’s of Science in Accounting from Cal State San Marcos and went back a few years later for her MBA.

Jeanelle has known Optima Office CEO, Jennifer, for several years now and has joined her on various business ventures. Jennifer hired Jeanelle onto her team at TGG Accounting for an internship just prior to graduating college, where they worked together until Jennifer left to start a new venture. She jumped at the opportunity to join her start-up and Jennifer has been Jeanelle’s principal mentor through the years.

Currently a Controller with Optima Office, Jeanelle works primarily on internal projects including managing the company’s payroll. Her favorite thing about the company has been navigating the challenges of a start-up and watching the grace and flexibility Jennifer uses to approach new problems. Creative problem-solving is one of Jeanelle’s strong points and feels most accomplished when seeing her solutions manifested.

One of Jeanelle’s favorite quotes is “If not now, when?”. “I love this quote because it forces me to analyze decisions and opportunities for change from a rational and analytical standpoint, and helps me avoid one of my greatest enemies – procrastination,” states Jeanelle.

Outside of work, Jeanelle enjoys traveling with her husband and 1½-year-old son. They live on a flower farm and enjoy walking around with their two dogs in tow, taking in the views and picking a few flowers. Plans for 2020 include slowing way down, tackling some house projects, and welcoming a new baby this summer.
