Shannon Massena is the Director of Human Resources at Optima Office Inc.’s Arizona location.
“Find the passion in what you do and you no longer think of it as just a job,” is the advice Shannon gives based on her broad professional experience in service, call centers, e-commerce, manufacturing, wholesale & retail in the automotive industry, electrical, construction, consulting, furniture, food, health, hospitality, marketing, property management/development, transportation, and technology industries.
Altogether, Shannon has thirty plus years of accounting experience, more than twenty years of human resources experience, and for the last fifteen years, experience working with startups. Prior to consulting, Shannon served as the Director of HR and Finance at a technology-based software and logistics company where she was essential in helping the startup become the thirteenth largest company in Arizona. She maintains a Senior Professional in Human Resources Certification (SPHR) from the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI) and a Senior Certified Professional (SCP) with the Society of Human Resources (SHRM).
Flexibility is one of Shannon’s favorite aspects about Optima Office, Inc. “The flexibility of schedule is very important to me,” says Shannon. “I know it has been expressed by many at Optima. This is a big reason why we love our Culture here. Many times, I couldn’t get away from my corporate job to attend special events or take care of personal matters. With Optima, you can control your schedule and take care of all the personal items that matter to you.”
Shannon has a love for historic Arizona that can be traced back to her childhood where she grew up on a 500-acre ranch that included a schoolhouse from the 1800's. On her current farm, she uses the brass bell from her childhood home. Shannon enjoys riding the Arizona trails on horseback with her family and friends and discovering things you cannot discover when traveling by car: old homesteaders’ cabins, stagecoach stops, a beautiful hidden spring, or waterfall in the middle of the desert.
Shannon and her husband hope one day to retire and enjoy their Old West Campground & Events business. Shannon says, “Who knows, maybe I will still want to consult a little too when I’m done since I’m not one to sit still. What a way to retire!”
