Get to know more about Robbie, his passions, and what motivates him!

1. What initially drew you to Optima and the industry?

My initial role was a mix of sales and marketing, and I thought it was exciting that I’d get to learn about different aspects of the business. I also knew my role would evolve over time to align with my strengths, which really appealed to me.

2. What does a perfect day for you look like?

A perfect day starts with an early morning workout, followed by a productive workday where I get to meet a partner or client for lunch or coffee. I always make time to check in with my mom and a few friends, and I love unwinding in the evening with a jacuzzi session.

3. If you had unlimited resources, what project or initiative would you love to start?

I’d love to produce my own movie. Films have always been my favorite art form because they combine sound, music, visuals, and acting into one medium.

4. If you could time travel, what advice would you give your younger self?

Nothing. If I would have made one change, it may not have led me to this point. Life happens in mysterious ways, but everything happens for a reason.

5. What’s one thing you’ve learned about yourself since joining Optima?

How much I enjoy the social aspects of life. I always knew I liked being around people, but I never knew that it was truly what drives and motivates and makes me happy.

6. What’s one book, podcast, or movie that has had the biggest impact on you?

The Happiness Advantage, a book based on how happiness leads to success and not success leading to happiness.

7. If you could instantly master one skill, what would it be?

Playing the piano. I never learned music as a child, but I’ve always wished I had. I think it would be so cool to be at a hotel or bar where they have a piano and just be able to play any song.

8. What makes you feel the most fulfilled?

Spending time with my friends is when I am at my best and feel my best. I believe I am a combination of my best friends and their best traits.

9. What’s a fun fact about you that most people don’t know?

I am extremely organized and even OCD. I can tell if somebody has been in my room, everything has a specific spot and is left a certain way.

10. What is something on your bucket list that you hope to accomplish?

Honestly, I don’t have a bucket list. I tend to stay put because I think San Diego is the greatest city in the world—I have everything I need right here!
