Amy's position at Optima Office is Controller, and she has worked here since September of 2022. While attending college Amy worked in the accounting field as an Assistant Controller. She decided to switch fields and received her BA from SDSU with an emphasis in Management, Human Resources. After working in that field for 5 years, she chose to get back into accounting and received her CMA certification and MBA at Florida Institute of Technology.
Amy possesses a wealth of knowledge in financial services, as she worked at CULA (Credit Union Leasing of America) for over five years and nine years as divisional controller for Quicken Loans. Prior to that, Amy held controller roles in many different industries including construction, manufacturing, and technology services. With over 20 years of progressive responsibilities, Amy’s qualifications include financial reporting, KPIs, budgets, forecasts, variance analysis, audit and tax schedule preparation, financial analysis, internal controls, cash flow management. Amy is most familiar with QB Desktop, Sage, and Microsoft Dynamics. She enjoys learning the ins-and-outs of the different industries she gets to work with. along with helping clients get out of sticky accounting issues due to staff changes.
Amy and her husband absolutely love to travel. They have been to Italy, Bahamas, Mexico, Napa, Santa Barbara, and have enjoyed frequent trips to Hawaii. They also love to spend time with their children and grandchildren who all live in San Diego. They are avid wine collectors and enjoy going wine tasting throughout California. Amy and her family also have season tickets to SDSU Aztec Football games, and love to support her Aztecs in any way that she can. Go Aztecs!
