About the Firm

What You’ll Do
As Controller, you’ll report directly to the CFO and manage a wide range of internal finance functions. You’ll lead a team, drive accuracy in reporting, and serve as a trusted advisor to firm executives.
Key responsibilities include:
• Leading preparation of internal financial statements and external audit deliverables
• Managing federal and state tax compliance, including K-1 schedules
• Overseeing partner capital accounts, draws, and distributions
• Supporting partner retirement planning in collaboration with ERISA counsel
• Managing accounts payable and firm-wide expense reimbursements
• Supervising and mentoring an accounting team
• Improving systems, controls, and accounting processes
• Supporting budgeting and forecasting in partnership with FP&A
• Acting as the subject matter expert for systems like Aderant, Elite, and Chrome River
• Ensuring compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements
What We’re Looking For
• Active CPA license
• Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Accounting (MBA is a plus)
• Minimum 10 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a law firm or professional services environment
• Strong leadership skills with experience managing accounting teams
• Proven success managing audits, tax filings, and financial reporting
• Advanced knowledge of accounting systems and Excel
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities
• A collaborative, detail-oriented leader who operates with integrity and strategy
Compensation and Benefits
• Salary range: $225,000 to $250,000 based on experience and certifications
