Surrogate Alternatives, Inc. (SAI) was founded in 1998 and for the last 25 years has been creating families through surrogacy and egg donation. SAI helps create families for individuals and or couples suffering from fertility issues who otherwise wouldn’t be able to have a biological family of their own.

At SAI they pride themselves on offering a truly unique and personalized experience for all parties involved in the surrogacy journey. What sets them apart from other surrogacy agencies in the United States is their 25 years of unparalleled expertise in the field, coupled with their compassionate and dedicated approach to every aspect of the process.

Diana Olmeda, SAI's Founder and CEO, is an experienced surrogate and she understands the intricacies and emotional complexities of the surrogacy experience, ensuring that SAI's practices are grounded in empathy and understanding. As a woman-owned business, SAI brings a special sensitivity and awareness to the needs of both intended parents and surrogates.

Their unique business model focuses on cultivating strong relationships and providing unmatched support for everyone involved. They have developed an extensive network of top-notch medical professionals, legal experts, and mental health professionals who work closely with their clients to ensure the highest level of care throughout their journey. They also offer comprehensive screenings, matching and case management services tailored to the specific needs of each individual and family.

At SAI, they are not just facilitating a process, they are creating families and building lifelong connections. That’s what truly sets them apart from other surrogacy agencies.

SAI's big goal is to revolutionize the landscape of surrogacy, making it accessible, and stress-free for all families, regardless of their background, race, or financial standing. They aim to be the global gold standard in ethical surrogacy, ensuring that every surrogate and intended parent is treated with dignity and respect while bringing about positive, long-lasting change to the surrogacy experience worldwide.

In their 25 years in the surrogacy field, SAI has learned several important lessons that have shaped their approach and helped them build their services. Here is their Top 5…

  1. Empathy and understanding are key.
  2. Clear communication is vital.
  3. Thorough screening and matching are critical.
  4. Adaptability and flexibility are necessary.
  5. Collaboration and teamwork lead to success.

Diana loves how easy it is to reach out and connect with their incredible team at Optima. "They are always there ready to help in any way they can which is important to me since my time is limited. They allow me to focus on other issues that need my attention while Optima lends a helping hand," says Diana.

Diana's favorite part of the job is undoubtedly witnessing the life-changing moments when intended parents meet their biological child for the first time. Diana explains, "There is an unparalleled sense of joy and fulfillment in knowing that SAI played a critical role in helping families achieve their dreams of parenthood."

The SAI team’s dedication and hard work come to fruition during these precious moments, and it is incredibly gratifying for Diana to see the smiles, tears, and happiness that their agency has helped create. These moments remind them of the importance of their work, inspiring them to continuously strive for excellence and make a positive impact on the lives of surrogates and intended parents alike.

Diana is deeply inspired by the resilience, courage, and selflessness exhibited by both the surrogates and intended parents who embark on this extraordinary journey. Diana shares, "It is a profound privilege to be a part of their lives, witnessing firsthand the transformative power of love and the unbreakable bond that forms between families, surrogates, and the children they bring into the world."

In her free time, Diana loves to indulge in her two favorite hobbies: traveling and reading. Exploring new places and immersing herself in different cultures provide her with fresh perspectives and valuable insights that she can apply to both her personal and professional life. Reading, on the other hand, allows her to unwind, learn, and grow as an individual, feeding her curiosity and enriching her understanding of the world.

Just this past January, Diana had the pleasure of traveling to London, Paris, and Edinburgh, with her husband. The city’s rich histories, diverse cultures and iconic landmarks, like the Tower of London, Eiffel Tower, and Edinburgh Castle, was a captivating and inspiring experience for her. The trip was a fantastic opportunity for Diana to recharge, gather new ideas, and connect with people from these beautiful locations, all of which she believes contribute to her effectiveness as a leader in the industry.
